00:00 Alright guys, let's get into it. So, I feel like this one right here is going to get me some hate, but I wanted to talk to you guys about the dangerous side of AI. 00:15 And I want to preface this by, like, the fact that we use AI every single day in my business. I use it in my personal life. 00:23 I love AI. But what I have seen with multiple clients of mine and just people that I've talked with, it definitely has put some red flags up for me, in regards to how people are using it. 00:36 And so, while I am super pro using it in your business, I want you to use it the right way. 00:43 And I want you to be aware of the dangerous aspects of it when it's used in the wrong way. Because listening to your chatbot, no matter what it is, if it is not giving you accurate information, it is costing you money and so much more. 01:01 So what we hear quite often is, well, ChatGPT told me to do this. Or, I'm using ChatGPT to do that. 01:09 And I hear it look literally so much daily. But I want to say this in the most loving way possible, that this is becoming a pattern that is not healthy. 01:23 And I'm going to explain to you why it's not healthy. Because AI is becoming the default. Instead of using our brain, which is how we became founders in the first place, or how we became high-performing. 01:36 team members, it is taking that away from us. Because we are immediately going to AI for the ideas, for the creative direction, for all of the things that our brain was once responsible for. 01:50 We are now throwing it onto this artificial intelligence and expecting it to give us the output that our own unique life has to as brought about inside of our creative person. 02:04 You know what I'm saying? Like, I know that my thoughts, ideas, and direction for my company are shaped 100% by what I've gone through. 02:13 What I have gone through has shaped the information I have obtained, because it has directed me into different paths of education, and it has led me to read different books, and it has led me for different life experiences, working with different coaches. 02:28 If there was somebody sitting next to me that was also running the exact type of agency, theirs would look much different, because they've lived a different experience. 02:37 But if we both went to AI and had AI be responsible for our thoughts, for our creative direction, for our product descriptions, it would be very similar. 02:49 And you've probably seen this online, where, like, you can spot a ChatGPT image that's like for a promotion a mile away, because they all have the same types of things. 03:01 You can likely see multiple, characteristics that are similar between, like, the writing styles, right? If somebody's using ChatGPT and another person's using ChatGPT. 03:11 Even though they may have fed it their brand voice, it still is putting out very similar stuff. Versus if those two founders had used their own brainpower first, this would be a completely different experience. 03:24 And so, what a lot of us are doing is we're asking Chat, what do I post next? We're asking them to design our email, as far as, like, what is being sent. 03:34 that our subject lines are. We're outsourcing the strategy, which should be coming from our own brains. We're outsourcing the strategy into AI. 03:45 And it is slowly but surely wrecking your business. I have seen this. I know two clients for, like, just jump out in my brain as people who I have watched them slowly deteriorate their business. 03:59 Because they are relying so much on AI. And I have tried and tried and tried to get them to see that it is creating a major issue for them. 04:09 And they just don't want to see it. So I'm hoping that instead of getting defensive by me speaking on this, that you will just take a moment, let your guard down, and just hear what I have to say. 04:20 Because, again, I am not anti-AI. I am pro you being successful. And we're going to figure out how to do that together. 04:28 So, again, it is not at all about using AI. It's how it's being used. Because if you put bad stuff in, you're getting bad stuff out. 04:38 Because AI is only as good as the prompt. And the problem is, most founders do not know how to properly prompt their chats. 04:46 Or, their, AI system that they're using. Because you could give it a vague prompt, like, give me ideas to get more sales. 04:53 You're going to get just, like, this generic list, marketing tactics that work, like, across industries that have zero context to them. 05:00 They are not going to be, like, any deep strategy. Okay? They're going to be very surface level. And they may or may not work. 05:08 Either they're not going to work for your particular business. Or at least not work as well as if you had prompted it something different. 05:15 So, instead, you could say something like, run a funnel analysis. And give it step by step. This is where this person would, the customer would start with me. 05:24 This is where they end up. These are all the layers I have. What information do you need from me to get a clear picture of my funnel before you do a funnel analysis? 05:34 That is going to be so much more beneficial to you because if you listen to our last episode, we were talking about funnels. 05:41 And we were talking about how you will often, if you can be a detective, you can find out where in the funnel you have a leak. 05:49 And chat can help you, if you prompt it correctly, it can help you figure out where the leak is. And then you can use your brain that God gave you and all of your life experiences and all the knowledge that you hold and all of the fact that your ideal customer avatar literally sits in the middle of your 06:08 brain. And you figure out how to stop the leak. Because AI doesn't fix a lack of clarity, it only amplifies it. 06:19 Because when you are just putting in these generic things, because your brain is so scattered because you are flailing, it is going to give you the same type of results. 06:28 Just flailing, just pulling things out of thin air. And again, yeah, some of them are going to work. A lot of them aren't. 06:35 And I want every move you make to be so strategic in your business because the more strategic the move is, the more revenue it will produce. 06:45 Because with AI, if you don't know what to ask, you don't know what kind of answer you're going to get. 06:52 Fundamentally, AI is designed to agree with you. That is why there's been so many issues raised because, like, teenagers can go to chat with an issue of self-worth and it's going to validate to them that they shouldn't have positive self-worth. 07:08 Same thing as a business owner. You could go to them and be like, I don't think my ads are working and it will say, yeah, it's not working. 07:16 When in actuality, it is working. You are not prompting it correctly. Therefore, it cannot give you accurate information because ads across all different types of businesses are going to be so different. 07:33 without chat. Being told a prompt that is specific to your business, it cannot give you factual data. So, important to remember, AI is built to be powerful. 07:46 It is not built to be confrontational. I will tell you, like, even with my personal stuff, when I'm, like, using chat for my personal life, I am all the time asking it, are you sure you do not have a bias when you tell me this? 08:00 Are you sure that it's factual information? I cannot tell you how many times chat has given me something back and I've been, like, can you really look into this and make sure that all this information is factual? 08:13 And it will come back and be, like, oh, no, you're right, I didn't give you the right information. But what if I had just stopped there and taken that information as fact? 08:22 I, I don't recommend doing this, but Ivy's chat has, like, a counselor on this. Like, this is the issue I'm being faced with, but the prompt I always tell it is, I need you to act as a high per, high performing counselor that specializes in high performers that suffer with X, Y, and Z. 08:47 I need you to give me an unbiased opinion of this situation, because it's going to side with me. I don't want it to side with me. 08:54 If I'm wrong, I need it to tell me I'm wrong, and so I have to give it very specific prompts so it can tell me if I'm wrong. 09:03 But so often we leave that part off, and, like, if you go and you put in, like, to fight. You had with your significant other, and you're like, which one of us was right? 09:11 It's going to say, you, honey, you were right. But, like, you could be so wrong, and that could just destroy your relationship because you didn't prompt chat to give you factual, unbiased, you know, just truth. 09:24 So be so, so mindful, because it just always wants you to feel like you nailed it. It wants you to always feel like you're the smartest person. 09:32 You're the person in the whole world, and while I'm sure you are, we need chat to help us find our faults. 09:40 It needs to see the holes, because we can be right without chat. We need chat to tell us how to be even more right in the right way. 09:51 Okay, so, normally what happens is you're going to bring an assumption to chat. It's going to get confused. Confirmed. So, you, you bring it an issue. 10:00 It's going to validate you and be like, oh, yeah, honey, you're right, and then you think, okay, yeah, I'm right. 10:04 I'm on the right path, but it's just reinforcement, and therefore, you continue to spin your wheels doing the thing that you were already doing, or worse, you were finally headed in the right direction. 10:17 It didn't happen fast enough, and so you go to chat, and chat's like, yeah, you should stop that, but you were so close to the breakthrough, and you didn't prompt chat right, and therefore, it validated your feelings, and it didn't give you facts, okay? 10:36 So, like, can you see how this can be such a dangerous slippery slope? Literally, It's like you walk away walking in with this idea already convinced in your brain, and all chat is doing is nodding its head in approval, like, you were right, you were right. 10:54 Because it's very rarely going to tell you wrong, even when you are. An agreement is not the same as accuracy. 11:01 Agreement is not the same as accuracy. This becomes dangerous. And these agreements business because you're deciding things without complete understanding. 11:09 You're deciding things based on misguided prompts. You're deciding things based on surface level answers that have no strategy involvement, no strategic thinking. 11:10 You're deciding on what sounds confident instead of what actually is going to be a revenue driver. You're deciding based on based upon tactics instead of strategy. 11:34 And you're just going off of what chat GPT said. And chat GPT literally is just pulling information from everywhere. It is pulling information whether right or wrong from everywhere. 11:48 It is not God and it cannot always be right. And it's not. We have seen so many times where it has been so incredibly wrong. 11:56 And so what you're left with is just wasted time, broken strategy and frustration because you're like, I'm doing all the things, I'm listening to chat. 12:04 It's my, I've heard so many people say like, it's my business coach. Oh my gosh, please Lord, do not let it be your business coach. 12:13 Okay? Because it is going to steer you wrong, but you are going to feel so certain that it is just steering you the right way. 12:22 And all along you are slowly losing sight of the prize. You are slowly losing yourself into this world of AI that is changing your business into something you won't recognize in six months. 12:38 And I desperately I really don't want that for you. Because if you keep going to chat with the improper prompting and you keep taking everything it says as fact you are going to get to a point where nothing is working and at that point you won't even know what is broken because it's going to be so many 12:56 fragmented pieces and that feeling of hopelessness is what I want you to avoid because Thank you. Bye-bye. All along is creating this confidence in you that is not based on fact. 13:11 It is creating confidence without competence. And if you are a founder, you are so competent. You are so smart and you know what you need to do or you know that you need to figure out how to do something. 13:29 And yes, there's room for AI to assist, but don't let it be the leader. You have to remain the leader. 13:39 So what we see happening behind the scenes is that they're using AI to write emails that don't convert. There's even like whole companies now with email marketing specifically that uses AI to convert to create emails for you. 13:54 And you're like, oh my gosh, these are so pretty, but they're missing the strategy. They're missing the humanness. And at the end of the day, you might get some sales, but long-term conversions will not be there. 14:06 This is how you get sudden spikes and drop-offs because after a while, your customers will realize there's no human touch behind it. 14:15 And what happens everyone is craving right now is real humanness. And I just think that's going to continue to get more and more needed in a world of AI. 14:26 People are going to crave that human connection. We also see people following advice that doesn't fit for where they are. 14:37 So they're throwing, and they're like emailing us. Okay, bye. I want to go this direction. I want to go that direction. 14:42 They will literally send us chat GPT copy for their email. And we're like, no, no, because what I will never ever ever do is just do something because a client tells us to do it when I know it's going to sacrifice their success. 15:02 And a lot of agencies, we will not stand up to clients like that. But I and my team, we love our clients so much that we're willing to say the hard thing. 15:13 And like, sometimes they come to us with a great, they're like, they, they know how to prompt. They're like, this is what my chat said. 15:19 And we're like, you know what? That's actually brilliant idea. Let's run with it. But nine times out of 10, that is not the case. 15:27 And nine times out of 10, they come to us after they've already implemented a change somewhere. And we're like, wait, why did you do X, Y, or Z? 15:35 They respond back. Oh, chat GPT told me to do that. And we're like, oh no. And we have to backtrack. 15:42 Okay. So what happens is you end up missing the foundation entirely. You execute one specific thing like writing an email. 15:53 Okay. But the funnel is missing the connection, the clickability, the conversion factor, it's all missing. Yet you have this completed deliverable. 16:04 It's two totally separate things. And you have to be mindful of that. But the problem is most founders don't realize anything is missing because they're feeling so call. 16:16 Confident in their AI assistant that they're missing the big picture because AI gave them an answer and it's an answer they wanted to hear, but it wasn't the right answer. 16:30 And there's a difference and it will absolutely cost you money and eventually your business. this. So what is AI actually used for then? 16:38 Because 100% we are not anti-AI over here. We are pro-strategy. You want to use AI for speed, for organization, brainstorming. 16:49 We love a good brainstorming session with chat. Love it. Drafting stuff and then putting your human touch on it. What we don't want to use AI for is high-level strategy, decision-making, diagnosing problems, or knowing your business like you do. 17:07 Now, I do think that there is a time when, when given the proper information, chat can diagnose a problem in your funnel. 17:16 Chat can look at your last email and all the information that you are able to provide it, and maybe it can find where the leak happened, right? 17:26 Because you could say, okay, I'm getting this leak this open rate and this click rate, but conversions are here. My audience size is this. 17:32 here's my website. Can you find where a leak could be? And maybe it will get it right, and maybe it won't. 17:40 But if it gives you something, then it's your job to go digging to figure out could that be it? Or is it completely off base? 17:49 AI. AI is the tool. It is not a strategist. You do not want an AI strategist, because again, pulling info from all over the interwebs, from all of the data that is input into it, and not all of it is accurate. 18:08 You need to not hire a hammer to design the house. Does that make sense? Do not hire the hammer to design the house. 18:19 Right? You might could use the hammer to implement the design of the house, but like, that doesn't make sense to hire a hammer to do the design. 18:32 You have to know when to use your resources. Always, always, always, strategy first. How is your money made? How is your funnel? 18:42 What is the process? How is the entire customer life cycle? And then you can use AI to execute it faster, but you don't ever want it to make the decision for you because the goal with AI is not to replace human thinking. 18:57 It's meant to make it go faster and that's it. That's where we are currently, okay? So instead of prompting it, tell it, tell me what to do. 19:08 Write this for me. Instead, you need to shift it to telling it, help me execute what I've already decided because that is where everything will start to change. 19:20 You want to use AI with intention by giving it context. The more information you can give AI, the better. Then, one thing that is a great question to always ask is, what other information do you need from me to execute this task properly? 19:38 Another important part of a prompt is to tell it to act as something, okay? So like, let's say you are writing a product description, them. 19:47 Okay, you want to say, act as a high-level SEO strategist and write a product description for this item that is rich in SEO and keywords to help me rank number one on Google. 20:07 That is so much different than, write a product description. You're going to get two different results. One of them is the bare minimum. 20:15 The other one is much closer to what an actual professional would do. Will it hit the mark? Not at the same level as what a human brain that specializes in this can do, but it will be so much closer with the proper prompt. 20:30 It's important to remember that AI doesn't replace strategy, but it exposes whether you have it or don't one. That is the underlying issue. 20:38 It is going to eventually show up. It's not going to show up today, but it might show up in a month. 20:43 And by that point, it's going to be so broken you don't know how to pick up the pieces. So here's some examples of asking this, not this. 20:52 Don't ask it, my email didn't do well. Can you tell me why? Instead, you say, here's campaign data, open, click, revenue, list size, break down what likely impacted performance and what I should test next. 21:06 Or don't tell it sales are slow. What am I doing wrong? Instead, you say, given my traffic conversion rate and AOV, where is the most likely bottleneck in my funnel? 21:19 And again, we are going to give it the beginning of the prompt, act as a, da, da, da, da, da, specialist in whatever it is that you're asking it. 21:28 And we're going to end the prompt with, and tell me what else you need from me to give me the most data driven factual answer. 21:38 You can also, instead of saying, is this a good product? Or is this a good product description? You could say, what type of buyer would this product appeal and what messaging would convert each type? 21:51 Or if you have a specific product, you're like, okay, this is my ideal customer avatar, write a product description that would make them want to make the purchase. 22:02 Instead of saying, should I run a sale? Say, what signals would indicate I need a conversion-based promotion versus a demand generation strategy. 22:11 You see the difference there? Instead of saying, why isn't my website converting? Say, audit this product page for clarity, trust, urgency, and friction. 22:23 Where would a customer hesitate? That is going to give you way better results than, why isn't my website converting? And then what chat's going to tell you when you say that is, you're right, it's not a conversion. 22:35 When you're a website, you need to do this, this, this, and this, which may not be what you need at all, but when you give it more depth to the prompt, it can give you a lot more specific, tangible things that you can actually implement that make sense for what is currently happening. 22:54 Instead of saying, my posts aren't getting engagement, what should I do? You say, based to my brand and audience. What type of content would build demand versus just engagement? 23:05 So, I hope this has opened your eyes, maybe made your brain think a little bit about how you're currently using AI in your business, where you may need to pause on it, and how you can elevate it. 23:17 Because at the end of the day, AI is designed for us to get our time back. But we don't want to get our time back, and at the same time, sacrifice our business in the process. 23:29 So, we'll chat again soon. Love you. Bye!
